Position purpose

The SSC Services Coordinator is responsible to provide a variety of services and administrative duties. Functions include, but are not limited to: clerical duties, scheduling appointments, for SSC staff, book conversion process, supporting the career services programming, create marketing materials, assist with tutoring, and providing customer service and information.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

(80%) Provide general Administrative support to the staff of the SSC

  • Manage the SSC’s calendar (academic and events)
  • Answer phones for the SSC in a professional and courteous manner
  • Provide consistent, professional communications with students, staff, faculty, and other constituents of the SSC
  • Work with Housekeeping, FM, Security, and the Events Coordinator to keep ongoing communication with what is happening in the SSC
  • Assist in scheduling appointments for the SSC staff
  • Coordinate meetings as requested
  • Develop promotional materials for events sponsored by the SSC
  • Assist with data entry for statistics gathered by the SSC
  • Upkeep (housekeeping) office & coffee area
  • Assist with ordering office supplies
  • Attend monthly staff meetings

(10%) Coordinate and conduct Electronic Text book conversions

  • Scan and convert written text into a computerized format
  • Edit E-text utilizing ABBY Finereader software
  • Assist students in obtaining their written documents in an alternative format

(10%) Coordinate Events for the SSC

  • Assist in communicating with external and internal constituents of the various events sponsored by the SSC
  • Coordinate with staff and students concerning events at the SSC
  • Assist with creative input concerning events at the SSC
  • Assist with marketing for events held by the SSC

Required qualifications/skills

  • Currently enrolled student at NCU
  • One year of administrative experience
  • Ability to handle and keep information confidential
  • Skills to plan, organize, and implement multiple tasks in a broad base of activities and office functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both in verbal and written form
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to maintain several projects and deadlines at one time and ensure effective completion of all
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new data entry software
  • Ability to problem solve, administer effective confrontation, and give positive direction to students and guests
