Bible & Theology
General Information
Mission Statement
The Department of Bible and Theology provides a biblical and theological foundation for all North Central University students and offers advanced preparation for those planning to pursue graduate study in Bible and Theology.
Biblical Studies Major
Biblical Studies majors will choose one of two tracks: The Biblical Studies track or the Biblical Languages track. Although each track will feature elements of both, the Biblical Studies track will have a greater emphasis on biblical content, and the Biblical Languages track will have a greater emphasis on developing skills in Greek and Hebrew.
As a result of completing the Biblical Studies major, the student should develop a deeper and broader knowledge of the Bible. Graduates should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Old and New Testament content, the history of Israel, social and cultural dynamics in the Mediterranean Basin during the Second Temple Period, methods in biblical studies and a working knowledge of either Hebrew or Greek. The Biblical Studies major reflects NCU's continuing commitment to excellence in biblical interpretation.
