Dr. Tennant teaches Revivals at NCU, often taking the students on trips to Argentina to see the revival there.

One of her specialties is Celtic studies and Dr. Tennant teaches an Honors Seminar which is an integrative learning experience based on Stephen Lawhead's books and bringing together Celtic history, church history including the Celtic saints and monasticism, the Celtic missionary movement, and Celtic philosophical themes for the church today. She taught this course at Schloss Mittersill in Austria in 2005, accompanied by NCU students. This course is normally taught in alternating years during January Warm-up and into the spring semester. Students will be selected spring 07 for the next course in Jan. 08. This will be followed by a trip to Ireland in May for students who have taken the course.

Dr. Tennant is also the professor for the Narrative Preaching course in the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary D.Min. program for the new homiletics track.

Denominational Affiliation and Involvement

Ordained, 1985, Assemblies of God, Minnesota District.

Preaching opportunities at numerous churches, retreats, and conferences, speaking 80-100+ times annually in various states and countries

Serving on the national Assemblies of God Task Force for Women in Ministry (1998-present).

Served on the General Council Resolutions Committee, 1997 and 2000, and on the Vision for Transformation Higher Education Committee, 2005.

Marital status: Married to Ray Tennant

Languages: Latin (four years in high school and minor in college), Greek (one and a half years at the college level), French (two years in college with recent brush-up), Some Italian, Some American Sign Language, Presently learning Spanish

Travel: Sabbatical in Argentina, 2004; Great Britain including Wales, Scotland and Ireland; France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy; Turkey; Caribbean, Mexico, Central America; Greece; Canada; all 50 states. The purpose for much of this was speaking.

In her free time she enjoys “exploration;” spending time with her husband; maintaining other close friendships; boating and snorkeling; meeting new people of different backgrounds; public speaking and preaching; prayer; knitting and cross-stitch; mentoring; cultural events including drama, music and art; reading and writing.
