Worship Elements
- Rhythmic keyboard accompaniment while singing the melody. This may be selected and prepared by the student. (No melody on the piano accompaniment).
- Melody and accompaniment. This may be selected and prepared by the student. (Melody should be clearly defined in the right hand and the left hand should provide correct harmony in a simple accompaniment pattern.)
Sight-Read a Melody
- Only of a hymn or other four part texture
Sight-Read and Transpose
- A chord chart using block chords in both hands. It is recommended that the student us close cadence position for the chords. (Transposition of a m2 or M2nd up or down).
Scales
1. Major Scales
- Major Scales, two octaves, hands together
- Major Triad and inversions, blocked form, two octaves, ascending and descending, hands separately
- Major Arpeggios, root position, two octaves, hands separately
- Cadence (see Student Guide)
2. Minor Scales
- Minor Scales, natural and harmonic forms, two octaves, hands together.
- Minor Triads and inversions, blocked form, two octaves, ascending and descending, hands separately.
- Minor Arpeggios, root position, two octaves, hands separately
- Cadence (see Student Guide)
Play a Hymn
- A four-part texture. Student may select and prepare hymn ahead of time.
