This is the formal agreement between the Student Intern, North Central University, and the Sponsoring ministry and Pastor/Supervisor. Please initial each applicable section; indicating responsibility is understood and assumed.

Student Intern:

  • Make application with Internship Director for entering the program.
  • Register for credit with the Registrar's Office prior to the semester.
  • Fulfill recommended reading/report requirement.
  • Report to Internship Director upon completion of internship.
  • Communicate fully with Internship Director re: concerns, etc.
  • Cheerfully fulfill all work assignments given by pastor/supervisor.
  • Participate in staff meetings, etc., and seek regular communication with Pastor/Supervisor.
  • Arrange (in consultation with the pastor/supervisor) a daily work schedule consisting of no less than forty (40) hours per week, including Sunday AM/PM services and at least one mid-week service.
  • Assume complete financial responsibility for support during the internship period, including tuition, travel, spending money, etc.
  • Agree to the distribution of honorarium monies as scholarships toward succeeding semesters.

Pastor/Supervisor:

  • Familiarize oneself with the internship program and meet with the student in order to set dates, expectations, and goals for the period of internship.
  • Accept supervisory role for the period of internship and seek to mentor the student/intern in a wide spectrum of worship ministry. Maintain regular communication with the student/intern through weekly meetings and other times of interaction.
  • Develop, communicate, and supervise weekly work schedule.
  • Assign and set accountability strategies of daily, weekly, and project-oriented work tasks that are deemed profitable to the student's experience and helpful to the local ministry.
  • Provide the college with written evaluations upon request.
  • Prompt communication with the Internship Director re: any matters of concern, question, discipline, etc.

Internship Director

  • To assist in locating internship locations and make recommendations to pastor/supervisors and students re: possibilities.
  • To approve intern/ministry match-ups and schedules.
  • To communicate with sponsoring ministries re: concerns, questions, suggestions.
  • To assist student and pastor/supervisor in any way possible that significant growth can be realized.
  • To provide necessary follow-up with student and pastor/supervisor.
