Why study Biblical & Theological Studies at North Central University?

The Biblical & Theological Studies major at North Central University is designed for students wanting to pursue ministerial aspirations such as Bible translation, chaplaincy, university teaching, a graduate degree or apply for ministerial credentials.  This department will prepare and equip  students academically, personally, and spiritually with tools such as a deep knowledge and understanding of both the Bible and Christian Theology.

Classroom Experience That Matters

Due to North Central University’s tight-knit Christian community and spiritual environment, being located in the heart of Minneapolis allows for a multitude of opportunities to not only minister to the people around you, but to receive essential coaching and leadership from professors who deeply care about their students as godly and strategic future leaders and individuals.

The Biblical & Theological Studies major is set apart by a desire and intention to see the lives of students make a tangible impact upon the world. A hunger for learning, both academically and spiritually, will allow individuals to grow, and experience active learning in what is taught inside and outside of the classroom.

Study Abroad Experiences

Students will have the opportunity to go on study abroad trips while enrolled in the Biblical & Theological Studies major. The Israel Study Tour is a three week trip to Israel and Jordan during the May term. On this trip, students will experience assisting with an archaeological dig in Beth Gurvin, snorkeling in the Red Sea, as well as floating in the Dead Sea. Two students will be selected to study Bible and Theology at the University of Cambridge in England in a semester-long program. Classes will be taken through the Cambridge University Divinity Faculty while students live and partake in community in Ridley Hall.

Lifelong Connections

Join the Society for Bible and Theological Studies, a student-led group, to make connections within the major as well as to find a community to support both academic and spiritual growth.

Alumni Connections

Current students, faculty, and alumni within the Biblical Studies program can connect through the NCU Biblical Studies Society group on Facebook. The group not only provides updates on current news, but information on jobs and studies for those looking for post graduation opportunities.

BATS is amazing and has equipped me to think critically about the Bible, ask hard questions, and find the answers to those questions through thorough research.
