NCU Magazine: College Days

Every year, hundreds of high school students have the opportunity to come and see the North Central University campus for a 48-hour window into life at NCU. In addition to experiencing a night in the dorms and participating in Chapel, this year’s College Days guests can also experience a special evening service, with music by NCU performance groups and special speaker Steve Hays.

“College Days is our biggest visit event of the year,” says Troy Pearson, Director of Admissions, “it’s a great opportunity to see life at NCU up-close, and we hope students considering NCU will take advantage of it and come see what NCU is all about.”

Taking place March 27 & 28, the schedule for this year’s event includes opportunities for students to audition for music scholarships, and guests will also have opportunity to attend sessions on financial aid, meet with an admissions counselor to have their specific questions answered, and even attend classes. Thursday night, students will get a feel for another aspect of the NCU experience with a Thursday Night Live variety show hosted by Terrence Talley of the NCU Crew.

For the second year in a row, College Days also includes special event for Youth Pastors called “TALK”. “Every year we have youth pastors and leaders take the time to bring students to College Days and help them take a step to prepare for their future, and we want to do something to invest back into them while they’re here,” said Pearson. TALK is presented by the Center for Youth and Leadership, and will be a discussion hosted by NCU Student Ministries Department faculty Tracy Paino, Brian Pingel and Moses Mendoza.
