NCU Magazine: Partnership Grows with CNU in China

A team of seven representatives from North Central University visited Chuxiong Normal University (CNU) in Chuxiong, China May 18-30, 2007.

The partnership between the two universities began in February, 2006, when NCU's President, Dr. Gordon Anderson, signed a formal agreement creating a working relationship between Chuxiong Normal University and North Central University.

On this visit, lead by Dr. Buzz Brookman, the team visited the teacher preparation college in Yunnan Province to further the formal working relationship between the two universities. The team observed various university departments, educational activities, English speaking classes, an adjoining high school, and an elementary school.

Dr. Brookman was accompanied by Dr. Thomas Burkman, vice president of Academic Affairs; Mike Nosser, vice president of Student Development; Dr. Leslie Crabtree, Communication Arts department chair; Dr. Margo Lloyd, Education department chair; Simon Trautman, NCU grant writer; and Bethany Maupin, a part-time faculty member (TEFL).
