“Athletics is a microcosm of life,” said Trent Emenecker, the new Assistant Athletics director and Men’s Basketball Coach. “It pinpoints the focus that we are here to glorify God in a real world experience.”

Coming to North Central has been an opportunity to get back into a spiritual environment and to develop spiritual leadership in students’ lives. According to Trent, leadership is about taking what they are learning in and out of the classroom and putting it into practice.

Along with developing the athletics program and helping lead the Rams into their new NCAA D-III status, Trent hopes to develop sports camps and create opportunities for athletes to do ministry at NCU. “Athletics can be a tool to reach those who may not be churched and see them open to the Gospel,” Trent said.

“Trent had the leadership and spirituality to be engaged in our leadership building process”, said Athletics Director Greg Hayton. “He is a good fit to the overall purpose of athletics – to build leadership and see men and women develop spiritually and emotionally.”
