Chapel Survey
Subject area: Evaluation of the Sanctuary and Entry programs on 14 dimensions
Format: Rated the Sanctuary and Entry programs on the importance of specific aspects and their degree of satisfaction with each aspect, along with qualitative responses.
Implemented: Spring of 2007, with a simple random sample of 200 general NCU students.
Data Summary:
- Sanctuary program's most important aspects included 1) chapel speakers, 2) musical worship, 3) prayer request time, and 4) leadership/coordination of the Sanctuary program overall. Although all items were listed as at least somewhat important, the least important aspects included 1) physical structure of the chapel, 2) projected images during the service, 3) projected videos, and 4) announcements.
- Sanctuary program's characteristics with the highest satisfaction included 1) physical structure of the chapel, 2) prayer request time, 3) chapel starting on time, 4) projected videos, and 5) announcements. Although students report to being at least somewhat satisfied on each aspect of the Sanctuary program, the least satisfying aspects were 1) chapel speakers, 2) chapel ending on time, and 3) musical worship.
By combining the importance and satisfaction indexes, the areas of greatest strength for the Sanctuary program include 1) prayer request time, and 2) leadership during the service. Using this method, the areas in need of meaningful intervention include 1) chapel speakers, 2) musical worship, 3) chapel ending on time, 4) altar time, and 5) leadership/coordination of the program.
Entry program's most important aspects included 1) musical worship, 2) chapel speakers, 3) leadership/coordination of the Entry program overall, and 4) leadership during the service.
