Subject area: Content knowledge of the Bible; factual Bible knowledge

Format: 150 multiple choice items with a 45 minute time limit

Implemented: Most freshmen and graduating seniors from 1988 to 1998, some sophomores from 1988 to 1998. Used periodically with both freshmen and graduating seniors since 1998.

Data summary:

Average score for freshmen - 46.5 (answered approximately half of the items correctly)

Average score for 2nd semester sophomores - 60.0

Average score for graduating seniors - 66.5

Statistically significant differences between each of the above groups

Those seniors whose major is full-time church-ministry related score significantly higher than those seniors whose major is not full-time church-ministry related
