Strands Survey

Subject area: Rated the degree to which educational core components, or strands, are emphasized in the general education core at NCU

Format: Each strand's subcomponents are rated on the degree to which they are emphasized on a scale of 0 (no emphasis) to 4 (major focus of the course)

Implemented: Information gathered from all faculty teaching in the general education core (2001), as well as from all graduating seniors reflecting on their general education courses (2001)

Combined data from professors and graduating seniors ranked the strands as covered from the most to the least degree:

Faculty and senior rankings did not differ by more than two ranked steps.
