Education Department - Teacher Preparation Program
Subject area: Educational Testing Service produces Praxis II: Subject Assessment tests to measure knowledge of specific subjects that K-12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. Individuals entering the teaching profession take these tests as part of the teacher licensing and certification process required in many states, including MN. The tests do not measure skills related to an individual's disposition toward teaching or potential for success.
Format: Paper/pencil, standardized test including both multiple choice and essay items.
Implemented: Graduating seniors from the Education Department in 2003-2005.
