North Central is proud to announce that senior foward Amy Sletten and junior center Naomi Sanon were named to the 2007-08 NCCAA All Region First Team. Sletten was also named the Region's Most Valuable Player. Joining her players in regional honors, head coach Shayla Yeackley was named Coach of the Year.

Sletten (Fergus Falls, Minn.) became North Central's all time leading score during this season as well as leading the team in scoring with over 16 points and pulling down over 8 boards a game. The senior forward led NCU in scoring in 16 of its 27 contests this season including dropping 24 in the Regional Championship victory over Providence College (Otterburne, Manitoba). Sletten is also third in NCU history in career rebounds.

Yeackley was named the Regional Coach of the Year after leading her team to the first back to back regional banners in NCU history. She guided NCU to a 13-12 regular season mark which included an undefeated season in region and verses NCCAA DII opponents. In an amazing year of record breaking individual performances the most impressive mark might be guiding a team of seven players to a winning record and the regional championship.

Sanon (Boston, Mass.) became the All-Time leading rebounder in NCU history during the Regional tournament while also claiming the single season record for blocks and rebounds in a season. The Boston native also claimed the single game record for blocks (10) and rebounds (35) in a single contest. Sanon averaged over 16 points and 16 rebounds during the regular season. Her 35 rebounds in a game verses Grace University (Omaha, Neb.) narrowly missed the NCAA DIII record for boards in a game. She led NCU in rebounds 24 of its 27 contests this season.
