TWINS PLAYERS STOP BY FOR NCU CHAPEL
Posted by NCU Media Relations, 9/25/08
Minneapolis, MN—North Central University students were treated with a surprise visit from three Major League Baseball Players on Thursday, September 25, 2008. Minnesota Twins’ Kevin Slowey, Adam Everett, and Scott Baker joined North Central students during chapel the day after their team drew within one half game of first place in the American League Central Division. In an interview style question and answer session, David McIver spoke with each player about what it looks like to be a professional sports player and a strong Christian. The teammates shared candidly and from the heart about their struggles, their victories, and how they grew and learned from God’s faithfulness through it all. After groups of students gathered around to pray for their brothers in Christ, each person present walked away challenged and encouraged. The Twins host the Chicago White Sox for the finale of a three game series tonight at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Game time is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. CT.
