Men's Soccer Update 9/30/08

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- The NCU Men's Soccer team dropped both games on their weekend trip to Canada. On Friday the Rams lost an 8-0 contest to Providence College and then fell 3-1 to Canadian Mennonite on Saturday.

The Friday match verses Providence (Otterburne, Manitoba) saw NCU fall behind early and never get a consistent attack en route to their second loss of the year NCCAA North Central region play.

Saturday's match at Canadian Mennonite (Winnipeg, Manitoba) allowed the Rams a quick chance to rebound from Friday's tough loss. North Central improved their play in the first half but still trailed the Blazers 2-0 at the half. Senior Ryan Wendorf (Racine, Wis.) got NCU on the board in the second half on a free kick. However, NCU could not over come the home team lead.

North Central stands at 0-9 on the year and 0-2 in NCCAA Region play. The Rams will take the next few days off before returning to the pitch for another northern road trip. On Friday NCU travels to Dunbar, Wisconsin to face NCCAA opponent Northland Baptist Bible College at 2pm. Saturday, North Central travels north to Michigan's upper peninsula for a 2pm tilt with Finlandia University (Hancock, Mich.).
