GREG HAYTON

ATHLETICS DIRECTOR

Greg Hayton came to North Central in 1997 after providing 14 years of sports leadership, including 11 as athletics director, at Rockford Christian Life High School in Rockford, Ill from 1983 to 1996. While at Rockford Christian Life, Hayton built a boy's and girl's track program that won 22 conference titles, two sectional crowns and one state championship. Hayton also coached boy's soccer and was named Illinois Region IX Coach of the Year in 1994.

At NCU, Hayton continues to build competitiveness and character among athletes. "This is an exciting time to be an athlete at NCU, with so much growth in this department. During the past five years, new teams have been added to the athletics regime, providing more athletes the opportunity to compete at the college level. Now, the process of moving into NCAA III and still maintaining our National Christian College affiliation will provide numerous outlets for national recognition for our teams and individuals.

"Our continuing goal is for our athletes to leave with an unparalleled experience, to grow both athletically and spiritually while at NCU. We want our athletes to love and value competition yet to understand that athletics can be a tool to change lives."
