Strong Interest Inventory [Revised]
The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) is based on the idea that individuals are more satisfied and productive when they work in jobs or at tasks that they find interesting and when they work with people whose interests are similar to their own. The SII takes about 25 minutes to complete and contains 322 items that measure your interests in a wide range of occupations, occupational activities, hobbies, leisure activities and types of people. Your interests are compared to thousands of individuals who report being happy and successful in their jobs. Your personalized report identifies your optimum career choices based on your interests and includes additional related occupations with concise job descriptions.
Use the Strong Interest Inventory® to:
- Choose a career
- Increase your job satisfaction
- Make a career change
- Choose appropriate education and training
- Plan a fulfilling retirement
- Find a balance between work and leisure
This inventory is a paper and pencil inventory that is sent off campus to be scored. After submitting the completed assessment, it takes approximately 10 days for the results to be returned. At that time the student will be notified and MUST set up a one-hour interpretation appointment with the Career Development Counselor to go over the results.

Success in education -- and in meeting any challenge life presents -- is found in working from strengths, and The Gallup Organization understands this better than anyone. More than 2,000,000 interviews with people from virtually every profession, career, and field of achievement have yielded a simple, yet profound finding:
Top achievers understand their talents and strengths, and build their lives upon them.
StrengthQuest leads each student in a discovery of his or her natural talents, and to unique and valuable insights into developing those talents into strengths. The student becomes better equipped to succeed, and make effective decisions that enable him or her to balance the demands of classwork with extra-curricular activities, job, and family.

The LASSI is a 10-scale, 80-item assessment of students' awareness about and use of learning and study strategies related to skill, will and self-regulation components of strategic learning. The focus is on both covert and overt thoughts, behaviors, attitudes and beliefs that relate to successful learning and that can be altered through educational interventions. Research has repeatedly demonstrated that these factors contribute significantly to success in college and that they can be learned or enhanced through educational interventions such as learning and study skills courses.
