Banquet for the Broken
The NCU community came together on Saturday, January 28th for a sold out banquet to raise awareness and funds to fight against human trafficking. Two student organizations, Release and Delta Kappa, hosted the Banquet for the Broken. All proceeds from this event went to Home of Hope, an organization fighting against human trafficking in Moldova.
The banquet sold out before the night began and even added an 40 additional seats so more people could attend the event. The night was filled with delightful decor, beautiful music and wonderful food. Founders of Home of Hope, Andy and Nancy Raatz shared their passion and presented their vision for helping women out of human trafficking. They challenged all the guests to discover how they can act justly, love with mercy and walk humbly with God at and beyond North Central University.
The Home for Hope in Moldova is designed to be a home of safety, a home of restoration. As girls and women return to Moldova after months or years of horror, they are able to find a safe place to heal. The vision is to see each woman valued for who they are, healed and well, able to live independently.
The banquet raised over $1,700 for the Raatzs ministry and the night was a huge success thanks to Audrey Anderson and Brooke Hanes student leaders from Release and Delta Kappa.
