Phillipps/Zimmerman Hall Cookout
On Sunday, September 9th the PHZ, otherwise known as Phillipps Hall & Zimmerman House, had a fantastic beginning of the year kick off with the PHZ Backyard Grill Out. Nearly everyone in the PHZ community came out to enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, board games, yard games, and the wonderful singing talents of some of PHZ's musicians in residence. The evening was kicked off in clay commons with board games and large group games. Shortly after the Resident Director (Brittany Mather), Discipleship Administrator (Kristin Mindeman), and RAs introduced themselves. Also, at that time the Assistant to the Resident Director issued a challenge to the PHZ community to be invested in the Spiritual Life of the Residence area by making certain habits part of who they are as a community. All of these introductions were finished just in time for food to be served, and everyone helped themselves to a fine meal of hot dogs and hamburgers served up by the soon-to-be wed Benjamin Wipf. As stomachs started to reach capacity students started to gravitate towards the lawn blankets, ladder golf, Frisbee games set up, or just hanging out and chatting with one another. While the food and games were being enjoyed, all were able to be serenaded by the talents of Nick Grey and Isaac VanProosdy, singing crowd favorites such as One Direction, and Justin Bieber. Everyone had a great time and really learned what the PHZ is all about, enjoying Christ in the community of believers.
