Preventing Auto Theft and Theft From Auto
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, automobile thefts and thefts from automobiles are usually crimes of opportunity. Nearly 80% of all automobile crimes occur as the result of a vehicle left unlocked and/or items of value in plain view in the vehicle. Here are some simple and quick valuable tips on how to protect your vehicle and it's belongings:
Keep your doors locked and windows rolled up.
Remove all valulables from vehicle.
Keep spare keys in your dorm or apartment - not in or under your car.
Remove GPS mounts from your dashboard/window.
Never leave car running unattended.
Don't leave personal identification items in a vehicle such as drivers license, social security card, passport, etc.
