Biography

Amanda is a Montana native, but has lived in Minnesota most of her life. Amanda lived for several years at Northwestern College where her husband was the Resident Director of the men’s dorm. This enabled them both to not only work with the age population they love, but live among the students and share life experiences with them.

Amanda has an informal, direct style of counseling.  She enjoys engaging students, learning together, and walking alongside them as they learn more about themselves and who they really are in eyes of God. Through this process, she hopes you see things in a new light. Amanda has a strong passion for college students, and considers this time to be one of the most life-changing and challenging times in a young person’s life. She hopes that her clients bring with them an eagerness for growth.

Amanda joined the NCU clinical team in 2006, is licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and is currently working on becoming an Approved Clinical Supervisor by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.  As the part-time clinician at NCU she also directs a thriving private practice in New Brighton, MN.  Professionally, she is a member of ACA (American Counseling Association), MnCA (Minnesota Counseling Association), MWP (Minnesota Women in Psychology), and ACC (Association for Creativity in Counseling).
