Work Study

Federal and Minnesota College Work-Study at North Central University

What is work-study?

At North Central University, work-study is on-campus employment that is subsidized by the federal or Minnesota state government.

How do I know if I am eligible for work-study at North Central University?

If you are eligible for work-study, you will be sent a work-study application with your award letter. Eligibility is based on financial need as determined by the FAFSA and other financial aid awards received.

Please be aware eligibility for work-study does not guarantee you a position as there are a limited number of available positions. Work-study supervisors review applications and select applicants based on their job qualifications. If you are hired for a position, you will be sent an award letter that will state the position you were hired for, your hourly wage and the number of hours you are allowed to work per week. If you completed a work-study application and have not been contacted regarding a position by the time you arrive on campus, you may come to the Financial Aid Office to check on availability of positions.

If I am hired, how much will I make and when will I be paid?

Work-study wages are $7.50 per hour.

If you are hired for a work-study position, your earnings cannot exceed the total of your work-study award.

Work-study awards cannot be applied towards your school bill at registration. You will be paid bi-weekly throughout the school year according to the number of hours you have worked.
