NCU Announces Changes to Carlson Institute
Minneapolis, MN - North Central University is announcing a restructure of the Carlson Institute. Due to a change in the federal financial aid regulations governing all types of distance education programs, the Carlson Institute correspondence programs are no longer economically viable. Moreover, the administration believes it is not in the best interest of the Carlson students to raise the tuition and fees to the level necessary to offset the costs of meeting these regulations. Therefore, this restructuring will require a phasing out of correspondence programs and courses, and will eliminate potential for online distance education.
North Central will continue to provide and improve on-line course management tools and enhancements for our on-campus students. Students currently enrolled in Carlson courses will be able to complete the courses and receive the earned credit for each course, and the current Stillwater Project prison program will continue.
