North Central University is honored to host the annual Partners for Progress Banquet at 7:00 p.m. on October 29, 2009 at the Historic Depot located in Minneapolis, MN. This event is an opportunity to hear from President Dr. Gordon Anderson share his vision for North Central. Testimonies will be shared by graduates and students, and the NCU Chorale will perform.

The titled theme of this year's banquet is "Shaping the Future," because North Central understands that the investment in the life of a young person doesn’t immediately yield its full reward. For those who choose to diligently nurture the potential found in these lives, a measure of LONG TERM vision is required. As a school North Central was one of the first in the nation to begin offering programs that trained students in specialized ministry to children, youth and their families. In 1985, NCBC began offering the Youth Ministry major and added the Children’s Ministries major in the fall of 1987. These majors emerged as specialized fields of study in higher education nationally and North Central helped to set the pace, producing graduates who now invest their lives by shaping the future of children and youth across the country and internationally.

The vision of North Central included the opportunity for our graduates to influence children outside of the church walls. Elementary Education was added and opened doors of NCU’s influence to classrooms across Minnesota and the world. In 2007, the Education Department began the process of adding Secondary Education to its offerings, and the first of these programs (Secondary ed social studies) is now fully accredited for licensure by the Minnesota Board of Education, with other programs in the final stages of the review process. In 2002, the Youth Development Studies program began, with training in counseling, psychology, business, and other fields, developing graduates uniquely preparing graduates for careers as school counselors, social workers, and leaders of para-church organizations.

Among the ranks of NCU Alumni now actively working with children and youth, you will find two Minnesota Teacher of the Year award winners, the National BGMC Director for the Children’s Ministries of the Assemblies of God, several district youth directors, countless teachers, counselors, administrators and pastors making a personal impact on innumerable students around the world every day.

Shaping the future is not limited to the investment made in children by North Central. Our Business Administration, Behavioral Sciences, Communication Arts, Fine Arts, Deaf and ASL, Intercultural Studies, Church Leadership, English and Biblical Studies students are all chasing a picture that they have in their heart to serve people and to take Your Life Our Mission to every corner of the earth.

North Central is looking for friends who will take seriously the opportunity to assist in the shaping of the future by improving the tools we have to prepare NCU students. NCU is renovating two buildings on its campus that will become the “studio for shaping” all of our North Central students. There is a need for funds to complete a new academic building with cutting-edge technology that will help us shape the next generation of graduates from all majors. Additionally, a first-class Children and Family training facility is to be completed with your help.

If you would like to partner with North Central University in shaping the future on campus and around the world you can join us by:
