NCU’s Student Newspaper, The Northerner, now online

Minneapolis, MN - The Communication Arts Department at North Central University is proud to unveil the launch of the website to the student led newspaper The Northerner. The new Web site, NCUnortherner.com, brings together the journalistic and media production efforts of NCU students. Reflecting global trends in journalism and media convergence, the new online platform for student media at NCU is intended to enhance the Communication Arts program, appeal to prospective students, as well as positively contribute to daily student life both online and off. Incorporating a social-media-friendly platform.

The Northerner brand is being enlarged to offer more opportunities for students to showcase their talents in photography, audio, video, as well as traditional print journalism. All published content on the site can be instantly shared via a host of social bookmarks, tags and links connecting it with popular sites such as Facebook, Digg and Technorati. The print edition of the newspaper has been redesigned, as well, becoming a smaller tabloid that takes visual cues from the new Web site.
