Release: Trafficking Awareness Week

Date: November 11, 2009 - 9:38am

Release, Students Against Trafficking, is pleased to announce Trafficking Awareness Week on North Central’s campus November 9-13, 2009.  Release, as a chapter of the Student Ministries Board, will be hosting various awareness, volunteering, and fundraising opportunities on- campus.  The goal of this week is to make everyone aware of trafficking happening in our city and world, and, also, to give practical ways students and staff can stop trafficking in their realm of influence.

The heart of the week is to hear the cries of the captives, and find the anointing of the Holy Spirit to be freedom and redemption to people with sexual bondage, generational curses, and corrupt systems.  The church has the responsibility to be a part of the freedom Jesus Christ brings to the captives as shown in Isaiah 61.  If the church does not raise up, who will?

Release will have a table set up and a 2,700 paper link chain symbolizing the 27,000,000 people in slavery in the world today in the atrium throughout the week.  You can break a link off the chain for a dollar in support of the cause.  Let’s start breaking the chain of slavery today with $1!
