Former North Central President Passes Away
Former president of North Central Bible College (North Central University) Dr. E.M. (Elmond Madison) Clark passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Dr. Clark served as the fourth president of North Central from 1971-1978 and become chancellor of NCBC through 1980. In 1981, North Central co named a new building that contains classrooms, administrative offices, and a gymnasium the Clark/Danielson College Life Center.
Dr. Clark was born in Centerville, Iowa, to J.J. Clark and Estella Madison Clark in 1911. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Estella; a daughter, Elaine, and her husband, Dr. Dan Johnson; sons, Admiral Vern Clark and his wife Connie, and Larry Clark; a sister, Alene Scott; grandchildren Darin Johnson, Brent Johnson, Jon Adrian Clark, Jeffrey Clark and Matthew Clark; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings.
Dr. Clark devoted much of his time developing the Church. His service included work for the Assemblies of God to strengthen the financial base for Christian education and his continuing commitment to building churches. He was widely known for his fund raising abilities and ultimately raised millions of dollars in support of new churches.
Dr. Clark's funeral was held on December 15, 2009 in the Clark Chapel at James River Assembly in Ozark, Missouri.
