Minneapolis, MN – For the third consecutive year North Central University has been recognized among America's Best Colleges and Universities by the U.S. News and World Report. North Central was selected as a 'Best Baccalaureate College' (Midwest) in the report’s Best Colleges 2011. Over the three year span that North Central has been acclaimed it has improved its overall standing each year by at least one tier ranking, debuting in Tier 4 in 2009, improving to Tier 3 in 2010, and jumping up to Tier 1 in the 2011 rankings.

“From the time of our first inclusion in these rankings in 2008, we were excited to be mentioned among the top institutions in the nation,” said Dr. Gordon Anderson, North Central University’s president. “The fact that our ranking has improved so significantly in such a short time is a direct reflection of our commitment to continued excellence and to accomplishing our mission of preparing Godly leaders for success in their field of study.”

U.S. News and World Report made changes to the Best Colleges ranking methodology and presentation for 2011. This year, schools are designated National Universities, National Liberal Arts Colleges, Regional Universities, and Regional Colleges. The numerical rank of the top 75 percent of schools in each category is displayed. Among the many factors weighed in determining the rankings, the key measures of quality are peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and for national universities and liberal art colleges graduation rate performance and high school counselor ratings of colleges.

The highly respected rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, has become one of the most comprehensive research tools for students and parents considering higher education opportunities.
