Minneapolis, MN- North Central University Fine Arts Professor Kevin Mills served as a clinician for the annual Midwinter Clinic of the Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) on February 11, 2010.

Professor Mills’ session was entitled "Beyond Making the Changes: Techniques of Jazz Improvisation." To illustrate concepts, Professor Mils demonstrated on the tenor saxophone, accompanied by a North Central University faculty jazz combo.
Rounding out the combo were Peter Shu (piano) Jeff Warren (guitar) Ian Allison (bass) and Zach Miller (drums). Ian Allison also delivered a portion of the lecture, demonstrating concepts on the bass guitar.

The session was well received, and there was a lively Q & A between those in attendance, and all members of the ensemble.

MMEA has over 2,000 members, and is primarily aimed at those who teach music in schools, at any level from kindergarten through college.
