NCU Hosts the Pure Worship Institute
Minneapolis, MN – North Central University had the pleasure of hosting the Pure Worship Institute (PWI) June 13-18, 2010. The weeklong intensive “mini university” targeted high school and college aged individuals who are looking to become professional musicians, singers, songwriters, and technicians.
Each day of PWI included seminars, workshops, jam sessions, and listening panels led by Jeff Deyo, NCU Fine Arts Faculty members, and many skilled professionals. The general public was also invited to nightly Pure Worship Encounters free of charge. These worship events were led by Deyo, Desperation Band, Brian and Ramey Whalen, and NCU student Nicole Serrano.
PWI, a division of WorshipCityMinistries, began a partnership with North Central back in January that brings PWI to the Twin Cities and NCU while also preserving the event in Nashville, TN. The institute works to train the next generation of professional musicians and singers through teaching, modeling, mentoring, and building. It seeks to cultivate in its participants’ hearts an understanding of the enormous responsibility they possess – first as Christians and secondly as those who will influence and shape modern culture through their music and creativity.
PWI will now turn its attention to Nashville, TN where it will hold its 3rd annual event at Living to Go Church July 18-23, 2010 at. Registration is still open and can be done by clicking on this link. For more information about PWI please visit pureworshipinstitute.com or call the NCU Fine Arts Department at 612.343.4132.
