A/G Superintendent Visits NCU

Date: February 22, 2011 - 3:29pm

Minneapolis, MN – The community of North Central University was delighted to have General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Dr. George O. Wood on its campus February 22, 2011. Wood was at NCU to serve as one of the semester’s Moen Chairs for Pentecostal Preaching.

Founded in 2002, The Moen Chair, named after former NCU Chairman of the Board Rev. Ernest J. Moen, is a program designed to invite prominent leaders from around the nation to teach, model and mentor homiletics and pastoral skills throughout a given semester.

Unlike past semesters where one leader would serve as a semester’s Chair, the 2011 spring semester is including four members of the Executive Leadership of the Assemblies of God to serve as co-Chairs.

Dr. Wood engaged the NCU community by speaking in chapel with a message titled “Making Godly Decisions.” Following chapel Dr. Wood took part in a luncheon that included a Q&A with student leaders, faculty, and selected staff. Dr. Wood’s candid answers connected well with those in attendance, and he also spoke very highly of North Central and its efforts within higher education.

To cap off the day, Dr. Wood taught in two Homiletics II classes before departing.
