2011 Regent's Scholarship Awarded
Minneapolis, MN-North Central University is proud to announce Daniel Erickson as the 2011 Regent’s Scholarship recipient. The Regent’s Scholarship is a full-tuition renewable scholarship awarded to first-time entering freshmen each year, based on superior academic performance, references, and a written essay.
Daniel, a current student at Eagan High School in Eagan, Minnesota is an outstanding student, church leader, and community member who is active in sharing about the Kingdom.
Being passionate about stepping out of his comfort zone and meeting people, Daniel has been involved in many activities. He connected with others as the Captain on the high school Chess Team, persevered on the Swim Team, improved his leadership on the Link Crew, boosted his confidence on Eagan A.M. (a journalism class), explored his talents while announcing hockey games, and excelled on the Speech team, all while maintaining a job as a swimming instructor. Staying busy at school never deterred Daniel from staying focused on his studies as he maintained an exceptional Grade Point Average and participated as a member of the National Honor Society. Dedicated to academic excellence, he completed his schoolwork with discipline and commitment.
Above all, Daniel proved his exceptional character, striving to reflect the life of Jesus in all of the things that he does. His faith is the core of who he is. When sharing about God, he strives to meet people where they are at, remembering first of the grace he has received. Daniel genuinely invests in the lives of his peers, his teachers, his co-workers, and his church members.
Daniel is looking forward to coming to North Central in the fall to pursue a degree in Communication Arts with a Media concentration.
