Minneapolis, MN- North Central University is pleased to announce that a generous benefactor has partnered with NCU to provide the resources needed to continue the Carlstrom Deaf Studies program.

Previously, on February 14, 2011, it was announced that North Central University’s administration had accepted the recommendation of the Academic Affairs office to phase out the Deaf Culture Studies from the University’s program offerings.

The initial decision to phase out the program was made after careful consideration and was initiated as part of a recent institutional audit. This audit also led to the unification of North Central’s degree programs, which also reduced the credit requirements for graduation to 124 credits.

With this promised initial gift and subsequent donations to follow, NCU is encouraged that this unique program will continued to be a vibrant part of our program offerings for years to come.

The program will now fall under the newly created College of Ministry.

This information was shared in chapel on April 18, 2011, and those in attendance erupted with thunderous applause.
