The Alliance for AG Higher Education has announced the 2012 recipients of the Riggs Scholarship.
Two of the recipients for the $5,000 scholarship, David Putman and Katelyn Terhark have chosen to attend North Central University for their higher education experience.
The Riggs Scholarship is funded by the Assemblies of God Trust and is administered by the Alliance for AG Higher Education. It is awarded annually to select students who are planning to attend an Assemblies of God college/university.
Students receiving the scholarship have proven to demonstrate their leadership potential through active involvement in an Assemblies of God church, school, and community. Have earned a minimum GPA of 3.7 or have received an ACT score of 28 or an SAT score of 1870. Lastly, students who receive this award have demonstrated a dedicated walk with God and a commitment to use his/her gifts toward Kingdom expansion.
Putman, an honor student from Millington, Michigan, plans on pursuing Pastoral Ministries. Terhark, a student from Corwith, Iowa, plans on pursing a degree in Elementary Education.
The scholarship is named after former Assemblies of God General Superintendent Ralph M. Riggs, an early advocate for higher education in the Assemblies of God.
