It is with a sad heart that we inform you of the recent passing of one of our own from the North Central University community.
Darron Luhrsen, a third-year student at North Central, died late Monday night of injuries suffered in a car accident in downtown Minneapolis.
Local news media reported on Monday, August 12, 2013, at approximately 9:40 p.m., that a vehicle traveled off the roadway and into the Mississippi River near West River Parkway and the Stone Arch Bridge in downtown Minneapolis. It has been confirmed that Darron was the driver.
“Every one of our students contributes in no small measure to the close-knit community we create at North Central”, said Michael White, V.P. of University Relations. “The loss of any student, especially in such a tragic way, wounds and affects each one of us.”
“Darron was a standout student and good friend to many at NCU. The school joins his family and loved ones in grieving at the news of this promising young student's life cut short, a true tragedy,” White added.
The school is offering counseling to anyone wishing to talk about this tragic event and process the news of Darron’s death. Please contact the NCU Student Success Center at (612) 343-5000.
