Burkmans Blast through Black Ops Mud Run to Raise Support for Haiti

Date: September 3, 2013 - 9:34am

Minneapolis, MN - North Central University's VP of Academic Affairs, Thomas Burkman, and three of his children Eli (2003), Bethany (2012), and Bryce (2014) stepped out of their comfort zone and competed in the Camp Titan Black Ops Mud Run at Buck Hill in Burnsville, MN on August 3rd, 2013.

Not just another walk in the park, the 5K mud run included a dozen obstacles requiring teamwork and perseverance.  The Burkmans completed the course in 1 hour and 15 minutes.

According to Thomas, "This was a great opportunity for us to work together, to be challenged individually, and to overcome obstacles as a team.  I'm really proud of Eli, Bethany, and Bryce - they were real troopers! Of course, proceeds from the event support LifeAbove, an organization that serves the medical needs of those in Haiti. We're glad that we could help out in a small way."

The Burkmans' connection to North Central University runs deep, and reflects NCU's focus on loving God and serving others: "Your Life: Our Mission".  Congrats to Thomas, Eli, Bethany, and Bryce on a race well run!

Proceeds from the Camp Titan Black Ops 5k Mud Run support the efforts of LifeAbove. For more information, please visit www.lifeabove.org
