Professional Experience:

Dr. McKain previously was Assistant Professor in Hamline University’s interdisciplinary Division of English and Digital Media Arts – with over fifteen years of experience teaching and creating programs in communications, digital media studies/production, and public advocacy, and with an active research agenda in rhetorical approaches to digital ethics, post-digital American politics, and First Amendment/technology law. His graduate training at Ohio State University includes a Ph.D., and a Master’s in the Study of Law. He has a track record in collaboratively building multidisciplinary programs in communications and digital media (including a digital network/textbook on civic engagement in the post-fact society, Commonplace: A Citizen’s Guide to Persuasion for an Age that Desperately Needs One, McGraw-Hill, 2008) makes him a valuable addition to NCU.
