Since joining North Central University at the end of July, Rachel Tateosian (BA Business Administration, MA Strategic Leadership) has jumped in with both sleeves rolled up and a heart full of faith.
A two-time NCU graduate and standout alum, Rachel brings a love for Christian higher education and a clear vision for connecting people to mission. Her new role as Director of Advancement focuses on rallying donors and alumni around student scholarships, campus priorities, and the stories God is writing here every day.
“It’s such a privilege to step into a seat where I get to come alongside the incredible work happening campus-wide and tell North Central’s story to our supporters,” Rachel shares. “The Spirit is moving in big ways here, and I am so excited to build momentum, connect with donors, and raise support for our students.”
That momentum showed up quickly this fall. Under Rachel’s leadership, Give Day exceeded both of its goals—surpassing the $150,000 mark and the 100-donor participation target. Beyond numbers, she’s most energized by the people behind each gift and the transformation those gifts make possible: classrooms alive with calling, faculty mentoring students one-to-one, and a campus community anchored in prayer and purpose.
Rachel’s work is as relational as it is strategic. This semester, she hosted alumni and pastors at a variety of campus events, strengthening ties across generations and ministry contexts.
“I have a huge passion for Christian education and am looking forward to partnering with our donors and alumni to increase kingdom impact,” she says. “When we connect a student’s calling with a person’s generosity, everyone gets a front-row seat to God’s faithfulness.”
As Director of Advancement, Rachel is sharpening three priorities:
- Student impact first.Scholarship support remains the heartbeat of her work, enabling NCU to remove financial barriers so students can say “yes” to the preparation God has for them.
- Clear, hopeful storytelling. From Give Day updates to year-end reports, Rachel is elevating how we share outcomes, highlight changed lives, and invite partners into what’s next.
- Long-term relationships.Rachel is building a sustainable rhythm of communication and hospitality with regular touchpoints, meaningful campus experiences, and data-informed stewardship that honors every gift.
Rachel’s path to this role has been shaped by mentors at NCU and hands-on work in alumni engagement before returning to Minneapolis. Colleagues describe her as faith-forward, detail-minded, and joyfully persistent—someone who pairs vision with follow-through and keeps mission at the center.
Looking ahead, Rachel is excited to keep telling the story of a university where students are formed spiritually, intellectually, and practically, so that they are ready to lead in the Church and the marketplace.
“We’re seeing God open doors,” she says. “Together with alumni and friends, we can accelerate that work for the sake of students and the gospel.”
