Finals are approaching quickly. For many students, the thought of finals is stressful enough, not to mention a pandemic and social distancing, and those may escalate stress levels for you. However, with the right preparation you can ace your finals just as easily from wherever you are remotely learning as you could on campus.<\/p>\n

Here are five tips to help you end the semester strong:<\/h2>\n

1. Create a plan. <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Consider what successful studying looks like for you. Do you study best in silence, in the morning, on the weekend, with a full stomach? These are all things you should consider. Once you have determined what creates the best study environment for you, schedule your days around successful study habits.<\/p>\n

2. Get organized<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

Since campus has moved to a remote learning model, deadlines and project submissions may have changed. Look at your syllabi and verify with your professors exam dates, times and any additional information you might need to be prepared.<\/p>\n

3. Take it slow<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

It can be tempting to pull an all-nighter to get things done, but this can be more harmful than helpful in the end. Start studying early enough to ensure you have time to take breaks during study sessions to give your brain a rest.<\/p>\n

4. Take time to connect<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

Just because you are practicing social distancing doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t connect with people virtually. Research shows benefits in studying with your peers and working through problems with your professor. Organize a group study session with your classmates or a meeting with your professor using Zoom.<\/p>\n

5. Use your resources<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n

To ensure student success, NCU has moved academic counseling with an academic specialist online. You can also access Tutor.com<\/a> for additional content assistance and for writing consultations \u2013 including final editing!<\/p>\n

Never used tutor.com before? No problem! Here is some more information that can be helpful:<\/h2>\n

For tutoring: <\/strong>All you have to do is pick your topic from the drop-down menu, select your subject, and enter your question. A tutor will connect with you LIVE via the chat option and you two will work together to understand the answer to your question. It is that easy!<\/p>\n

Writing consultation<\/strong>: After selecting \u201cSubmit paper for review\u201d, the platform will prompt you with a series of questions ranging from:<\/p>\n

    1. What kind of writing are you looking for?<\/li>\n
    2. What is the topic of your paper?<\/li>\n
    3. Where are you in the writing process (needs a lot of work, lots of it is done, practically done I just need a second set of eyes)?<\/li>\n
    4. Describe your assignment and any instructions you have received, and what citation format are you using?<\/li>\n
    5. Then you submit your paper. In 12 hours, you will have a reviewed paper with recommendations for improvements!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
