North Central University has recently named Larry Bach, M.M., as Professor Emeritus in recognition of his significant contributions to the university. Bach served as a faculty member and dean in the College of Fine Arts (COFA) for more than four decades. During his tenure, he made remarkable contributions to the university and its students. Bach retired in 2022.<\/p>\n
Professor Emeritus is a prestigious honorary title given to retired faculty members who have given exemplary service and made notable contributions, not only through their academic endeavors but also through their profound personal and relational impact on students, colleagues, and alumni. The \u201cemeritus\u201d designation is an indication of the respect and esteem that the university holds for their contributions and accomplishments and is considered to be the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a former faculty member.<\/p>\n
North Central University has recognized and honored other faculty members who have retired or left the university after years of service by granting them the title of Professor Emeritus. Previous professors granted this title include Carolyn Tennant, Ph.D., who served in multiple roles and departments\u2014both as faculty and administrator\u2014for more than 26 years, and Buzz Brookman, Ph.D., a long-term member of the Bible and Theology faculty, who retired in 2018.<\/p>\n
Bach\u2019s Emeritus designation recognizes his outstanding contributions to the university. During his time at North Central, Bach\u2019s visionary leadership led to the establishment of NCU as a premier trainer of worship leaders and ministers, musicians, composers, and actors. Alumni of the College of Fine Arts can be found around the world, in Bach\u2019s words, \u201cas the psalmists of the next generation.\u201d His dedication to his students and his commitment to excellence in his craft have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, students, and the wider academic community.<\/p>\n
