Position Purpose

The Associate Director of Development works closely with the Director of Development to advance all areas of the Office of Development including Donor Relations, Major Gifts, Grant Writing, Database Coordination and Management, Business Relations, , and City Relations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, and identity of North Central University.
  • Execute Development strategies as outlined by Director of Development.
  • Maintain an individual portfolio of major gift donors making substantiative contact (including face to face visits) and presenting major gift proposals.
  • Coordinate Direct Marketing initiatives with Director of Marketing/Communications.
  • Set and complete fundraising goals for the NCU Fund, 1930 Society, Legacy Society and NCU Church Partners.
  • Represent the University at public functions and events, including social gatherings that may provide direct contact with donors.
  • Serve as a grant writer for the University
  • Assist with database management to identify opportunities with current donors and future donor prospects.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of experience in Development work or work that has similar skills required showing the potential for success such as business, accounting, finance, sales.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • A committed, Christian faith as demonstrated by the integration of their faith in their daily lives.
  • Appreciation and commitment to the University’s mission and Community Life Standard.
  • Experience and success working in an environment where team goals and individual goals are equally important.
  • Travel required.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and external constituents.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Raiser’s Edge preferred.

  • Daily exposure to repetitive motions of the fingers, hands and wrists.
