One million dollars raised for Acts 13 Scholarship

It was a God-sized goal. Over the past several months, hundreds of people have stepped forward to support an affirmation of NCU’s mission and former President Gordon Anderson’s service to the school with gifts to the Acts 13 Scholarshipfor the next generation of Spirit-empowered leaders. We’re pleased to announce that $1 million was raised for this initiative.

When Anderson announced his retirement, many who knew him well realized that the best parting gift would be something that would advance the cause of NCU students. So the Acts 13 Scholarship was launched in summer 2016 with the ambitious $ 1 million goal for student scholarships and NCU’s long-term endowment. Raising this amount in less than one year was more than double the typical annual fundraising goal; it is a testimony to the support of the extended NCU family and God’s gracious provision.

North Central students are the ones who benefit greatly from the generous giving that made Acts 13 success possible.

Yannin Dominguez is studying business. She’s excited about her future and believes that North Central is the perfect place to prepare for it. “Coming to North Central has allowed me to believe that no matter what I do, I can make an impact,” Dominguez said. “My professors pour into my mind with hearts of leadership and with hearts of pastors and shepherds.”

Saorsa Enget plans to serve as a missionary in Asia one day. Her Spirit-empowered education is fueled by daily time in chapel. “It’s every day, and the center of our day is spending time with God,” Enget explained, noting that the worship and speakers “keep us awake and alive for Jesus!”

Special thanks goes to all who contributed to the Acts 13 Scholarship. We couldn’t have done it without you!
