October 27, 2016

In chapel, Larry Griswold, co-chair of the Presidential Search Committee (PSC), gave an update on the presidential search process on behalf of the PSC.

Rev. Griswold recounted that in January, after Dr. Gordon Anderson announced his intended retirement date of June 2017, the Board of Regents hired Carter-Baldwin Executive Search to assist with the search process, then appointed the PSC in February. The initial work of the PSC included a comprehensive site visit that involved meetings with students, staff, faculty, and administration, and the creation of the Presidential Profile, released publicly in June.

Since June, more than 120 personal conversations have occurred with potential candidates. The PSC is now in process of reviewing completed applications, measuring them against the values determined in the Presidential Profile, and initiating in-depth exploration of potential candidates—looking at their experience, values, references, and possible vision for NCU.

Rev. Griswold noted the PSC is pleased with the high quality of candidates that are making themselves available to NCU for this important moment. He expressed confidence that our search to “discover the person God has already chosen” will bring a highly qualified president to NCU.

The time goal is that early in 2017, the recommended candidate will be presented to the Board of Regents for their prayerful selection of our next president.

June 9, 2016

The Presidential Search Committee for North Central University’s next president released today the official Presidential Profile, outlining the desired characteristics of NCU’s future president and providing an institutional overview for prospective candidates.

The search committee will be working throughout the coming months to select qualified candidates and go through an extensive nationwide search to find the next president of NCU.

Nominations, expressions of interest, and applications should be submitted to NCUPresident@carterbaldwin.com.

April 4, 2016

The Presidential Search Committee (PSC) has been named by the Executive Committee of the Board of Regents.

The PSC will convene April 21 and 22 to begin crafting the position profile statement. Sessions with faculty, students, cabinet, and staff throughout those days will provide opportunities for information regarding the search process, and for personal input from members of the NCU family to be shared with the PSC and the Carter Baldwin team.

January 2016

The Board of Regents will direct an extensive nationwide search for presidential appointment. The executive committee has secured the services of CarterBaldwin Executive Search of Atlanta, Ga., an executive search firm with a proven record in Christian higher education searches and a specific history in the Assemblies of God fellowship.

The process is anticipated to take approximately one year, with hopes that a new president can be named in early 2017.

The search includes the establishment a transition committee that has appointed search committee members, except for two faculty representatives elected by the faculty.
