The 2019-2020 was a school year that no one could have anticipated. Through it all, Chris Woelfle has handled every twist and turn with grace and wisdom, as he has done for the 20 years while at NCU. For this reason, and many more, North Central University is honored to announce Chris Woelfle as this year’s Staff of the Year.
“This year’s winner has been at NCU for 20 years this August and their name is synonymous with the word consistency. This past academic year has been incredibly challenging. We have had to work through the death of Micah Pennington, and then we had the unexpected closure of the residence halls due to COVID-19. Through it all, this person has served the students with grace, selflessness, and stability. This person truly leads and cares deeply about the students they interact with. This person is truly an MVP of the Residence Life Department. They have helped steady the ship these past 4 years through three Deans and an Executive Director transition. Additionally, they have assisted this past year in the Carlson Corridor renovation and is currently serving on the Cafeteria renovation project. As you may have already guessed, the winner is Chris Woelfle. Chris is committed to an exceptionally high level of service and truly embodies the mission and vision of North Central University,” Stacy Sikorski, LICSW, Director of Student Success.
“Chris is an anchor of the Student Development Department at NCU and displays such a high level of care and excellence in working with students. Since 2002 Chris Woelfle has been the RD of Carlson Hall and generations of men have experienced the familiarity of an one on one conversation in his office, an incredible program that will cause them to think deeply, or more likely an intentional conversation late at night on a Carlson Hall floor when Chris stops by. NCU is incredible grateful for his dedication, his kindness and care, and his belief in our students in helping them walk out biblical models of leadership,” Jeremey Williamson ’09, MA, Dean of Students.
