Welcoming Beth Brown: NCU’s New Dean of Students

North Central University is thrilled to announce Beth Brown, MSW, LICSW, as NCU’s new Dean of Students! With a wealth of experience in social work and a deep passion for student development, Beth is poised to make a significant impact on the NCU community.

Beth’s journey to the role of Dean of Students has been marked by a dedication to serving others and fostering holistic well-being. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Cross Cultural Studies from NCU and a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of Southern Indiana, Beth brings a unique blend of academic knowledge and real-world experience to her new position.

Prior to accepting the role at NCU, Beth embarked on a diverse career path that reflects her commitment to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. As a licensed social work therapist at a rural community mental health center in Indiana, Beth provided support to children, adolescents, and families facing many issues. From working with juvenile offenders to offering outpatient counseling services for students in the foster care system, Beth’s professional journey has been characterized by compassion and empathy.

One of Beth’s most rewarding experiences was her work with older adolescents and young adults struggling with chronic mental illness. Through her therapeutic interventions and support, Beth helped her clients build resilience and develop skills for independent living. Her ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and her collaborative approach to treatment earned her respect within the community.

Beyond her clinical work, Beth also served as a youth pastor at an Assemblies of God church for a decade. This experience further enriched her understanding of the complexities of human nature and deepened her commitment to guiding individuals on their spiritual journeys.

Beth is excited to bring her expertise and passion for young adults into the Student Development side at NCU. As she transitions from her role as an Assistant Professor of Social Work to Dean of Students, Beth is eager to leverage her skills to enhance the college experience for all students. In her new capacity, Beth will oversee the professional staff responsible for residence life, counseling services, student engagement, among many more areas.

With her blend of academic qualifications, clinical experience, and a heart for service, Beth Brown is well-equipped to lead NCU’s student affairs division with excellence. Her dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment aligns perfectly with NCU’s values, making her the ideal new candidate for the role.

Beth Brown’s appointment as NCU’s Dean of Students signals an exciting chapter in the university’s journey and we extend our warmest congratulations to her!
