NCU pandemic relief scholarship for MN students

North Central University has created a Minnesota Pandemic Relief Scholarship for the 2021–22 academic year, aimed at Minnesota undergraduate students who have taken a significant financial hit due to the pandemic and need financial encouragement to pursue their dreams for a college education. Applications are now being accepted for five full-tuition scholarships.

Applicants who meet these criteria for the scholarship will be considered:

  • Minnesota resident
  • 3.24 GPA
  • Apply and be admitted to NCU
  • Submit an essay describing how their academic experience was impacted by the pandemic and their motivation for pursuing their education at NCU.
  • Submit the FAFSA
  • Family adjusted gross income below $50,000
  • Live in Minnesota

Selected recipients must:

  • Start at NCU in the fall 2021 term
  • Live on campus
  • Take at least 15 credits per semester

“We are excited to announce this opportunity for Minnesota students,” said Bethany Harshbarger, Vice President for Enrollment and Student Development. “We have felt burdened as we’ve seen the impact the pandemic has had on students, including those who may feel like college finances are now impossible. This scholarship is designed to open the door for students we believe will make a difference in the world through the Christ-centered education we offer at NCU.”

Harshbarger pointed out that only new students may apply for the Pandemic Relief Scholarships; however, additional CARES Act funds will be available later this summer for current students. “Our team is prepared to help all NCU students access the funds available to help them with their education,” Harshbarger said.

The scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters for recipients who maintain good academic standing.
