First, we extend our deepest appreciation to Dean Tibbetts for his invaluable contributions to our digital education initiatives. After 16 months of impactful leadership, including the successful launch of Canvas for the university and a strategic refresh of our Academic Partners program, Dean Tibbetts will now return to his role leading the College of Business and Technology. We are grateful for his dedication and the meaningful accomplishments he achieved during his tenure.
Now, we are thrilled to announce that Alaine Buchanan, Ph.D., a distinguished academic leader and ordained minister, has been appointed to two pivotal roles at North Central University. With her extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, Dr. Buchanan is poised to drive innovation and elevate the educational experience for students, faculty, and NCU as a whole.
In her new position as the Dean of Digital Education, Alaine Buchanan will play a crucial role in propelling NCU’s growth in online learning and innovative programming. Through her executive leadership within NCU’s Online Education teams, Dr. Buchanan will collaborate with the Deans Council and the New Academic Programs Committee to shape the digital learning landscape for NCU’s diverse community.
With a Ph.D. in Second Temple Jewish Literature and History from Regent University, Dr. Buchanan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role as the Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies. Having previously served as a director for the same college at NCU, she has already demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the institution.
Dr. Buchanan’s teaching experience spans over 15 years, encompassing prestigious institutions such as Northwest University, SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary, Pacific Rim Christian University, Evangel University, and Methodist University. Her expertise in Bible and Theology has been shared both in-person and online, engaging students and fostering their intellectual growth.
As an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, Dr. Buchanan’s strong spiritual foundation complements her commitment to academic excellence. Her proven track record of curriculum development at the graduate and undergraduate levels ensures that students will have a robust and enriching learning experience.
