President Scott Hagan and the North Central University (NCU) Board of Regents have announced the appointment of Rev. Rich and Dr. Robyn Wilkerson as University Chancellors. Additionally, NCU’s College of Church Leadership will be renamed the Rich and Robyn Wilkerson College of Church Leadership.
Rich and Robyn Wilkerson – North Central University Chancellors
As chancellors, the Wilkersons will represent the university’s mission and vision in a variety of external arenas and on-campus special events. They will also serve as key ambassadors of the university, providing catalytic leadership in pursuing major financial gifts and transformative lead gifts for capital campaigns.
“We live in unprecedented times filled with unprecedented global opportunities,” Hagan said. “We believe the scope and scale of Rich and Robyn’s reputation and reach throughout America and the world will create enormous excitement for NCU.”
Connections to North Central
Rich Wilkerson attended North Central as a student in the 1970s and maintains an abiding affection for the school that served as his training ground for ministry. Since 1972 the Wilkersons have been committed to communicating the powerful message of Hope, Love, and Faith to the world. They’ve been lead pastors at Trinity Church in Miami, Florida, since 1998 and are founders of Peacemakers and the Peacemakers Family Center.
About the Wilkersons
Married for over 40 years, they have extensive experience with family ministry and have a unique gift of communicating the Gospel to our troubled society. Rev. Rich and Dr. Robyn minister in the heart of Miami and continue to be committed to the local community through innovative and practical ministry outreaches.
The Wilkersons will remain as pastors of Trinity Miami and will travel regularly throughout the year to North Central for chapels, leadership events, and board meetings.
This new role is an unexpected but welcome extension of the Wilkersons’ ministry values. “I’m so thankful to President Hagan and the Board of Regents for allowing Robyn and me to serve as chancellors at NCU. This promises to be my greatest and most humbling experience to date. With the Lord’s help, I will serve wholeheartedly to see NCU expand around the globe,” Rich said.
Robyn Wilkerson, who is passionate about women in church leadership, is particularly excited about the opportunity to interact with college-age women. “I am so energized to be part of a growing university culture that values women who have a powerful sense of God’s calling in their lives! I believe at NCU they will thrive in a ministry experience that confirms their call and will empower them to engage their life’s mission,” Robyn explained.
The new chancellors will assume their roles on Jan. 1, 2019, with the length of their term being determined by the president and the executive committee of the board. The Wilkersons will attend Board of Regents meetings as honorary members and preside over university commencement exercises, and Robyn will serve as the commencement speaker for the Class of 2019 at the ceremony on May 3.
