Role at North Central

President Scott Hagan became North Central’s seventh president in June 2017. Under his leadership the university has experienced positive growth in enrollment and programs, including the addition of a biological sciences major and the addition of accredited online undergraduate and graduate degrees. President Hagan serves as the head of the Senior Leadership team and oversees all facets of North Central University.

Personal Information

Scott Hagan, Ph.D., was born in the mill town of Sedro Woolley, Washington. He is married to Karen, who is an ordained Assemblies of God minister and accomplished speaker. Together, the Hagans have planted or pastored four churches. The Hagans have four married children and a growing collection of grandchildren.

President Hagan is a gifted communicator who has published six books, including the bestselling book “The Language Influence and Personal Power,” and more than 60 articles. He regularly speaks at conferences, seminars, and college campuses. He is also a sports enthusiast, especially when his children are involved.

Role at NCU

Hager provides executive oversight to several areas, including finance and accounting, human resources, facilities management, housekeeping, facility events, information technology, media services, and food services.

Professional Experience

Dr. Hager has successfully led organizations and people for more than 30 years and comes to North Central from his most recent role at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) in Springfield, Missouri, where he served for the past four years as Vice President and Dean. Before that, Hager served two years as the Chief Operating Officer for the National Leadership and Resource Center for the Assemblies of God and seven years as administrator of field operations for Assemblies of God U.S. Missions (AGUSM).

Personal Information

Hager and his wife, Lynn, have four grown children, three of whom are married. The Hagers also have three grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Role at NCU

Vice President Bethany Harshbarger oversees areas highly impacted by the challenges and opportunities facing higher education. Her teams are tackling new realities head-on through a variety of innovative initiatives. “We are excited to continue to improve our processes and student experiences in all areas,” Harshbarger said. “I’m especially eager for the rollout of our new “One Stop” student services model that provides a streamlined path for students to access the NCU services they need. With One Stop, new recruitment initiatives, and enhanced marketing resources, we are positioned for an excellent future!”

Areas of oversight include Admissions, Student Financial Services, Retention, Marketing and Communications, Student Development, Spiritual Life, Multicultural Engagement, and the Student Success Center.

Professional Experience

Vice President Harshbarger has been at North Central for 10 years, serving in multiple roles in Admissions, including Director, and most recently as Executive Director of Enrollment. She is also a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God.

Education

Wenschlag received his doctorate in Education, Organizational Leadership, from Concordia University Chicago. His educational resume also includes a Graduate Certificate in Education Administration from St. Mary’s University, Education Specialist in Education Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, and a Master of Education in Business and Marketing Education from the University of Minnesota. He earned his bachelor’s degree at North Dakota State University in Business Administration.

Role at NCU

The VPAA provides oversight for the four undergraduate colleges, graduate education, online education and instructional design, PSEO, academic partnerships, accreditation and assessment, registrar, library, instructional development, and athletics; he is also a chair on the Deans’ Council.

Professional Experience

Wenschlag has enjoyed an 18-year career in teaching and education administration for three school districts, and he has served since 2015 at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis. Wenschlag and his wife, Amy Lynn, are also co-owners of the Intevation Group, previously known as Performance Solutions, where he’s done the company’s accounting for the last 25 years. He also serves as a Senior Consultant for Arbor Research Group based in South Bend, Indiana.

Personal Information

Wenschlag and Amy Lynn live in Edina, Minnesota. When they are not attending school events, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, serving and leading at Bethel’s Rock Church, eating at independent restaurants, traveling or relaxing at a family lake home, and finding downtime to relax with Trek, their 12-year old Maltese.

Joshua Edmon joined our staff at North Central University in 2020. He serves as Associate Vice President of Spiritual Life/Dean of Multicultural Engagement. Since stepping into his new role, he now oversees Spiritual Life, Chapel, and Multicultural Engagement at North Central.

Professional Experience

Associate Vice President Edmon has served in higher education as an admissions counselor at Trinity International University and as an Educational Outreach Specialist with the TRIO program at Joliet Junior College. In addition to these vocational roles, Joshua has served in a variety of pastoral positions, serving as a church campus pastor, a worship pastor, and missions pastor with a focus on church planting.

AVP Edmon is married to his wife Sameka and they have two children, Skylar and Zachary. The Edmons reside in Minneapolis, MN.

AVP Williamson is married to Bree Williamson, an alumnus of NCU (’07). They have 3 incredible children, Reagan, Boston, and Paxton, and live in south Minneapolis. He enjoys running the lake system in Minneapolis, reading, spending time with his family, and is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. AVP Williamson is passionate about investing in the next generation of leaders at NCU.
